We need to change the government on the 18th of May

The Coalition government have failed our community and our nation for the last 5 and half years. It's time to do better. There's only one way to change the government at the coming election. Vote 1 for Dean Harris, your voice in a new Labor government. #LetsDoBetter #WarringahVotes

We live in the lucky country. And in Warringah, we’ve found one of the most beautiful corners of it. But as fortunate as we are, right now our country and our community are facing unprecedented challenges – challenges that will forever affect who we are, how we live, and the environment we call home.

Young people are being priced out of a home and an education. Women still don’t have financial equity. Domestic violence remains a pressing problem. And while our ageing population need more support, it is putting stress on our healthcare system.

Our environment — from natural wonders like The Great Barrier Reef, to small wonders like Warringah’s stunning coastline — is under threat. And with the effects of global warming becoming ever more apparent, we’re still being tethered to an energy policy from the industrial age.

We’re facing a mental health crisis – with depression, anxiety and other serious mental illnesses at all-time highs.

Our beloved ABC, and other valuable institutions, are under attack.

And we’re suffering a political landscape that’s become far too divided and personal – and bereft of the kind of decency, debate and co-operation that’s required to move us forward.

And so at the coming election, I believe the people of Warringah should be given a genuine choice. That you shouldn’t feel like the only option is the same old status quo, and more uninspiring, disappointing leadership. I believe you should have the choice to have your voice heard, your concerns acted upon, and your values represented in the parliament.

I believe we can do better. I believe we owe it to ourselves to try. And I know that if we work together, we’ll succeed.
